The CDC is committed to providing children with high-quality care, exceeding licensing standards. We provide care to infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. 团队规模很小, lower than licensing standards and those typically found in private child care settings.

All CDC teachers have a 孩子 Development Master Teacher Permit, or higher issued by the State of California. 很多人有B.A. degrees in Early 孩子hood Education and or currently working on attaining their Bachelor’s. Teachers stay current in the field, making continuous improvements and using "best practices" including updated curriculum and assessment techniques.

The CDC offers an array of individual and group activities every day. We are a play-based center meaning that it is our belief that children learn through their play and experiences. Through participation in self-selected activities, children have the opportunity to develop initiative, 做决定, and assume responsibility for their choices. A common theme that runs throughout the curriculum emphasizes the richness of cultural diversity issues, e.g., gender equity, ethnicity, ageism, and special needs. Our program supports children’s social and emotional development by:

    • Planning routines and transitions so they can occur in a timely, predictable, and unhurried manner.

    • Helping children develop emotional security and facility in social relationships.

Our program provides for all children’s cognitive development, 语言技能, 和身体技能:

评估s, Activity Plans, & 家长会议

All children enrolled in the program a minimum of 10 hours a week will have a Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) completed on them within the first 60days of enrollment. An additional DRDP will be done within the next 90 days of enrollment. The data from the DRDP will be used to inform activity plans and used to do a conduct a parent-teacher conferences 2 times a semester. Activity plans are to be posted for students and parents review. Individualized activity plans occur after the first assessment cycle.

餐 & 零食

All meals and snacks provided by Butte College 孩子 Development center are highly-nutritious and meet the USDA and California Department of Education nutritional guidelines and recommendations. The CDC's food program is funded by the 孩子 and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

The CDC provides all children with a nutritious breakfast and snack, prepared on-site. 就午餐而言:

    • Preschool 孩子ren (ages 30 months to 5) are provided lunch daily. Food is prepared and delivered daily by Butte's cafeteria. The California State Preschool Program (CSPP) grant that was awarded to the CDC mandates that lunches be provided for preschool children.

    • Parents of infants and toddlers provide their children lunches. Specific policies will be shared with all families prior to the start of the semester to ensure that nutritional guidelines are followed and children's health and safety concerns are addressed.

餐 and snacks are provided by the 儿童发展中心 are served family-style and children are encouraged to serve themselves when they are able. 孩子ren also learn about nutrition during meal times. 餐 at the CDC are intended to be a time for relaxing conversation and good nutrition.
